About
A Life of Displacement begins a four-part, two-year collaboration between Norval Foundation, the Irma Stern Trust and Nedbank. The series keeps Stern's work publicly accessible while the Irma Stern Museum remains temporarily closed.
This first exhibition draws from Stern's archive and collection. Paintings, works on paper, personal documents and travel artefacts connect her practice with war, antisemitism, displacement, identity and journeys from Berlin to Zanzibar.
