About
Pratyutpannamati is Shine Shivan's second solo exhibition with Stevenson. Its Sanskrit title describes a resourceful or quick-witted state of mind.
Shivan applies that idea to a group of protest portraits. The works resist passive looking through assertive colour, compressed space and figures that meet the viewer directly.
