131 A Gallery is an independent Cape Town gallery on Sir Lowry Road, at the Foreshore edge of the city. It shows contemporary work by both well-known and emerging South African artists, running monthly solo and group shows in its main room and curated group exhibitions in an adjoining Annex.
The programme spans painting, sculpture and photography and gives newer artists a serious platform alongside established names. It is one of the spaces that has extended the city's gallery cluster eastward towards Woodstock.
