About

blank projects started in 2005 as a project space run by the sculptor Jonathan Garnham, who had returned to Cape Town after a decade in Berlin. It became a full commercial gallery in 2012 and has since built a reputation for shaping critical discussion around contemporary art in southern Africa.

The programme leans towards concept and abstraction and represents a mix of emerging and established artists from the region. Shows tend to be spare and rigorous, and the gallery is a regular at major local and international art fairs.

It remains one of the more experimental commercial spaces in the city.
