About

EBONY/CURATED began in Franschhoek in 2007 and opened its Cape Town gallery on Loop Street in 2011. It shows a deliberately broad mix of classic and contemporary fine art alongside collectible local design, curated by Marc Stanes.

The programme runs from established, highly collectible South African names to newer talent from across the continent and its diaspora, and the gallery is known for pairing art with furniture and design objects in its displays.

The result is a more interior-minded, collector-facing space than the strictly contemporary galleries around it.
