Evol is a small, long-running club at the top of the city centre, a fixture of Cape Town's alternative nightlife. It leans away from mainstream house and commercial pop toward indie, post-punk, new wave and electro, and has built a loyal following among the city's alt crowd.
The room is intimate and unpretentious, and its calendar mixes themed club nights, live alternative bands and community events. It is one of the few spaces in town where subcultures outside the usual nightlife book their own nights.
