About

WORLDART was founded in 2004 by the art dealer Charl Bezuidenhout and has spent two decades specialising in urban contemporary art, work shaped by street art and pop art. It gives artists room to experiment and to make direct commentary on inequality, consumerism, identity and South African history.

The gallery now occupies a light-filled historic building at 68 Long Street, one of the city's oldest and most characterful streets. Its programme is more populist and street-facing than most of its neighbours.

It is a good first stop for anyone drawn to graphic, urban and politically pointed work.
